TWO POINTS OF VIEW by Michael Tickner
As many of you know, it is the twenty-fifth anniversary of MICHAEL TICKNER'S present style of painting. Just a note that Michael has been painting professionally for thirty-nine years. Many of you may not know that he is also wonderful with the pen. Michael is now writing either a poem or prose, depending on how he is so moved, to go with his paintings. We have put below two of his paintings with the new verses. If you would like to know any of the other verses on his available originals, we would be pleased to send it to you. Enjoy!

OVER THE ISLANDS 5" x 7" by Michael Tickner
The coastline slowly evolves.
Land and water slowly move
and create the scenes we love.
From the vastness of water
the land rises up and casts its shadow.
From a view high on the land
the water surrounds and isolates
each piece.
The patterns shift beneath our time frame
of existence,
we mortals borrowing time
for the experience of being.
Seeing these shapes seeming timeless;
But in the whole story we are passing visitors
of these constant changing scenes.

WEEKEND COASTER 10" x 8" by Michael Tickner
Away from it all
a kingdom unto itself
the retreat from the crowd
where only the silence is loud.
the morning wake is a gentle sound
no list of things that cannot wait a while
time to think and gather thoughts long ignore
a place where now becomes more important than then
greateful eyes drink in the memories of place
life moves along with gentler grace
here for some time and then...bannish the thoughts.

"Yellow and Red Houses with Clothesline" by Lynsey Paterson
Lions Bay Art Gallery is pleased to be introducing the talented LYNSEY PATERSON to our amazing group of artists. Lynsey's creative Folk Art Cutouts fly out the door and are a wonderful touch of whimsey to introduce to a spot in your home. She loves creating and is very good at what she does. The pieces are much more appreciated when seen in person and are at a price point that everyone can afford.
