Mary was raised in a family of creative, talented people who collections also inspired their art. In College she studied art and creative writing. She and her family are also very much into world travelling and a trip to Russia started her using found items in her artwork. The idea for the "Guardians" rose out of the ashes of September 11th. On donating to the relief project, she and her family decided to make gifts, and the six inch guardians have since that time grown to six feet guardians and all sizes in between. The guardians are made from found pieces which she and her friends and family collect, and then Mary's extraordinary talent creates a lovely spirit.
"They are a delight for me to create and I find they take on a life of their own. They have been a bridge for me to share in the lives of my customers and a way to connect on a more intimate and emotional level. My hope is that they bring a smile to your face and that they are a vehicle for sharing hope and laughter, honour and friendship, protection and love."
